A word from Steeno
I have been very fortunate to be part of the incredible and successful journey the Exeter Chiefs have been on over the last 10 years. To be part of the growth of the club, from the days in the Championship, to the heights of both Premiership and European competition has been like a dream. I feel incredibly privileged to have been granted a testimonial year not only in my 10th Season at this great club but in the year we became Aviva Premiership Champions.
For me the support the club and the players receive from supporters and the local business community is special and unique. This is reflected in the way we are perceived by our peers and competitors, often referred to as ‘everyone’s other favourite team’. Together we have all played a role in the success of our great club and are all part of the ‘Chiefs Family’.
I have chosen two charities to support throughout my testimonial year, the Exeter Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support. These two charities are very close to my heart.
I have been in a privileged position to see first hand the amazing work the Exeter Foundation do for many charities in our local community and further afield. It is amazing to see that since they started in 2010 they have already raised over 1 million pounds for these worthy causes. This is credit to the hard work of those involved.
Having lost my father to bowel cancer in 2007, the support and care both my father and family received from the MacMillan Nurses was invaluable and we will be forever grateful to those kind people who helped us through the hardest time of our lives.
I hope you can join me in celebrating my testimonial year and in the process, help me to raise much needed funds for my two chosen charities.
